Another Facebook phishing attack, steals credit card information
While the Facebook is focusing on Achieving 1billion users, there are more phishing attacks are on the way to make the users leave the network for good. according to a famous Kaspersky Lab Expert David Jacoby, the latest Facebook Phishing scam uses Facebook Chat to trick users into clicking a phishing links, which steals all the private information including credit card information.
apparently these hackers are smarter than anyone, First they gains access to a user’s Facebook account allowing them access to any other account on the friends list of the profile, then they change the user picture to the Facebook logo or icon and changes the user’s name to “Facebook Security.” using this method they will post a chat dialog to all the friend is the profile saying “Your Facebook account will be turned off because someone has reported you. Please do re-confirm your account security by: ‘Insert Link’ Thank you, The Facebook Team. to make them click on the phishing link.
The link will lead you to a page outside of Facebook that is similar to the Facebook theme and they will make you enter your personal data and to confirm your Credit card information including CSC/CVV code.
Facebook is beginning to become a phishing and scam portal. so it is highly recommended that you should not click on any unknown links and do not give away your personal information, specially your email.
