iPhone and iPad maker Foxconn China raises workers wages

Apple has been going through a bit of a rough time lately, specially things began to go against them in their partner Foxconn factory in china, following few tragic incidents of workers committing suicides and a factory explosion. Recently this has caused them to face an investigation on their factories including Foxconn china and many other Apple partners. The investigation might have already affected for the company as the  Foxconn has already decided to raise the wages of their Chinese workers.

Taiwan-based Foxconn said the pay of a junior level worker in Shenzhen, southern China, had risen to 1,800 yuan per month and could be further raised above 2,200 yuan if the worker passed a technical examination. Reuters

This is the third raise done by the company since 2010, as they are trying hard to reduce the stress of the workers. The wages are already higher than the minimum wage set by all local governments and it will keep getting higher in the future.

“We will provide more training opportunities and learning time, and will continuously enhance technology, efficiency and salary, so as to set a good example for the Chinese manufacturing industry.” the statement said.
