US Navy Prepares To Build Robots, Opens LASR Research Facility

US Navy is now preparing to start developing robotic technologies as they have opened a new research facility last week called LASR (Laboratory for Autonomous Systems Research) to expand their research on robotics and advanced technologies.

LASR will support cutting-edge research in robotics and autonomous systems of interest to the Navy, the Marine Corps, and the Department of Defense, such as unmanned underwater vehicles, autonomous firefighting robots, and sensor networks.’ Alan C. Schultz, Director, Laboratory for Autonomous Systems Research said in the White House Blog post

We already saw the amazing creations of the DARPA  through the past few years, and now we will definitely get to see more and more of cool new robots and technologies in the soon future from this new LASR facility.
