Huge Akira fan, Shinji Tejima has created this replica of the Akira bike, spending over $121,000 dollars. Since there was a lot of replica’s of this bike over the past years this has become the first bike to be validated by the Akira creator Katsuhiro Otomo.

I’m not a very big fan of the Akira series, but I was well aware that the Kaneda’s bike in Akira is a very cool bike. I have to say, this replica looks very much similar to the Akira Bike but it’s not as awesome as the original bike. This one actually looks very much like a kids toy and doesn’t even represent the awesomeness of the bike I saw in the series.

Still this replica is not so bad after all, specially considering all of  Tejima’s seven years of hard work I wouldn’t say its all a waste. He has already took this bike for a ride across the Japan to collect charity.
