Woman With The Bionic Legs Finishes London Marathon

Couple of weeks ago, I’ve shared the news about Claire Lomas, a 32-year-old paraplegic woman who’s been dreaming of participating the London Marathon using her new Bionic legs. Well, after weeks of training, she managed to attend the marathon and started her 42km run on April 22nd. Taking it slow she managed to walk 1.5 miles per day with the help of her husband, Dan Spicer and the family. Finally she made it to the finish line on Tuesday, 16 days after the start.  Sure, it’s a long time to finish, but she made it all the way, that’s what matters the most.

Claire Lomas was a talented horse rider, before she faced a terrible accident back in 2006, which caused her to lose ability to ever walk again. With the help of the bionic legs that cost her £43,000 ($69,500), she finally started to walk again and made it through the London marathon to raise money for Spinal Research charity fund.
