World’s Smallest Artificial Heart Gives Life To 16-Month-Old Boy

Miracle’s do happen in this world. But I don’t think we should thank god for that because today’s technology and the doctors are the real gods behind these miracles. Just a couple of days ago, an amazing miracle was reported from Italy after a group of Italian doctors have successfully saved the life of a 16-month-old boy by implanting the world’s smallest artificial heart.

This amazingly small  artificial heart managed to keep this innocent infant alive until the doctors found a donor for a transplant.

According to Reuters, this tiny heart only weighs 11 grams and can handle a blood flow of 1.5 liters a minute. An artificial heart for adults weighs 900 grams.

Science and technology is what makes us alive today. Without the help of the latest technology most of us would already be dead. Technology is improving and I’m sure in just few more years we will get to save many lives with these artificial body parts permanently and even save all those donors from giving up life.
