LG Introduces World’s First 5-inch Full HD LCD Panel For Smartphones

Korea-based innovative tech developer, LG Display today announced a revolutionary display technology by introducing the world’s first 5-inch Full HD LCD panel for smartphones, which lets you enjoy contents in full high definition picture quality right in the palm of your hand.
This display has been made with the latest AH-IPS (Advanced High Performance In-Plane Switching) technology, which boasts 440ppi 1920 x 1080 resolution along with 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio. According to the company, this is the highest resolution mobile panel to date in the market and that beats out the new retina display’s too.
“As smartphones become increasingly valued for how well they do multimedia and with the rapid growth of LTE enabling faster large file transfers, our new 5″ Full HD LCD panel is certain to prove a significant asset to the mobile market,” said Sang-Deok Yeo, CTO and Executive Vice President of LG Display. “With the world’s highest resolution smartphone display, LG Display continues to remain a step ahead in developing the most innovative in display technology products.”
When Apple announced their new iPad with retina display, everybody went crazy over it. Looks like Apple will have to find something better now because they will face a big challenge when LG brings out a smartphone powered with this panel.
