Miiverse: Nintendo Introduces New In-Game Social Network For Wii U

Nintendo’s E3 press conference is scheduled to happen tomorrow, but seems like the company couldn’t wait until tomorrow because they have already revealed some interesting details about what they will bring to the event. Yesterday during the pre-E3 livestream Nintendo unveiled few new details about their new Nintendo Wii U. Along with few cool details they’ve unveiled Miiverse, a new in-game social network designed specially for the new Wii U Game Pad.

Miiverse is a place for all the Miis to meet and connect with each other right through the new Wii U. It will let users connect with friends while playing games without even interrupting gameplay. Miiverse will gather up all the users into the plaza, showing them in different icons representing different titles to quickly determine what games are trending in the network at the moment. Users will get to send text messages, drawings and images to friends in the network, while finding and connecting with new friends from around the world.

Personally, I think it’s a neat idea to introduce an in-game social network to the game systems, instead of having to use other online social networks to connect with friends.  Nintendo will unveil the new Wii U during their E3 event. Stay tuned for more info.

So, who’s excited about the Nintendo Wii U launch? Do you think this Miiverse social network would spice up this new game console? Share your thoughts in the comments.
