When you’re living a busy life it’s really hard to keep track of all the small things at home. Personally I’ve experienced a countless number of incidents, that I had to spend hours to find the keys to my bike or the remote controller of the TV. Well, you know how hard it is to memorize everything as it is. But for Shahriar Nirjon and John Stankovic that wouldn’t be a problem because they recently invented a new way to keep track of everyday objects inside the house using Microsoft’s Kinect technology, they call it “Kinsight”.
These two computer scientists from the University of Virginia, have managed to build this technology that tracks and records the locations of small items like keys, wallet, mobile phones and remote controls. After tagging them to make the system recognize it, they will be stored in the database, letting the user find the object whenever they need it.
It’s actually a brilliant way to keep track of household objects and these two researchers are already planning to introduce a new smartphone app for this technology very soon. Things would get much bigger by that time.
