iOS 6 Officially Announced, Rolling Out This Fall
During the WWDC 2012, Apple has officially announced the latest version of their mobile operating system, iOS 6. New version packs lots and lots of new features and also brings new updates and improvements to all the major features in the system.
Innovative Map Solution

One of the major features in the new iOS 6 is the brand new mapping solution of Apple. As you may all know, Apple dumped the Google maps a while ago to introduce their own mapping system. New maps system is actually more easier to access and find places and features detailed graphics, smooth panning, tilt and rotating as well as visual and spoken turn-by-turn navigation and real-time traffic updates. Apple device users can experience a new and more improved map system with the new iOS 6. Now I can definitely hear Apple say ‘Take that Google’.
Upgrades to Apple Siri

Apple’s voice assistant, Siri will be working pretty hard on this new iOS update. According to the news it will be landing on iPad’s this time and it will also be featuring on the new iOS maps to give voice assistance, while letting you ask for directions to places. Upgraded Siri has a new feature called Eyes Free, that let users to interact with the system without having to look at the mobile device and it now has the ability to launch apps on a voice command too.
Facebook Integration

In addition to the new maps and Siri features, iOS 6 has been upgraded to work well with Facebook. New Facebook integration, offers deeper connection with Facebook for Apple users. It even allows users to post location to Facebook from iOS maps and the Facebook events will be integrated to calender while friends’ profile information is integrated into Contacts.
Other New Features

iOS 6 actually brings lots of new upgrades to most of its’ other features, including a new feature that allows FaceTime calls over cellular data, new update to Safari that allows photo streaming with an offline reader, and includes a new redesigned Phone app.
Despite all these excitement, you will have to wait till this Fall to receive the iOS 6 update on iPhone, iPad, iPad touch, and Apple TV.
