Ethiopia Bans Skype, Punishment Up To 15 Years Of Jail Time

Ethiopia government has now added the famous free-call making service, Skype to the banned list after receiving the new legislation’s. If you’re visiting Ethiopia sometime in the future, be sure to avoid using Skype because making a simple 30-second call over Skype or even using Google Talk could get you about 15 years of time off in Jail.
According to the reports from Al Jazeera, Ethiopia has banned all Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services, including their own state-owned Ethio Teleco communication service, banning communicating methods,such as video chatting, social media, email and other data transferring services.
Government says they took this action for the sake of country’s national security, but it looks more like a plot to hide something interesting. Just like how Iran started ban all kinds of Internet services.
