IBM’s Sequoia Is Now The World’s Fastest Supercomputer

IBM, the world famous computer maker now holds the crown for making the  the world’s fastest supercomputer, “Sequoia”. According to the supercomputer rankings site TOP500, IBM‘s supercomputer has managed to top 16.32 petaflops and steal the crown from the previous record holder Fujitsu’s K Computer.

As BBC points out, this is the first time that the US has won the top spot for making a supercomputer. It’s a great milestone for the US as well as for the IBM. Well, don’t get too excited because things could change faster than you think, when someone else comes along with much faster supercomputer. Can it play Crysis? Now that’s something we should be concerned about.
