It’s Official: Need For Speed Movie Is On Its Way

We heard the rumors and we had doubts. But now it’s official. EA has finally announced that they have teamed up with DreamWorks Studios to visualize the famous Need For Speed video game series in a ”fast-paced, high-octane film.”

Movie will be “fast-paced, high-octane film rooted in the tradition of the great car culture films of the 70s while being extremely faithful to the spirit of the video game franchise”. EA stated, “the cars are hot, the racing is intense and the story keeps players at the edge of their seat.”

According to the announcement, EA will be working close with the  DreamWorks chairman, Steven Spielberg in making this movie and they plans to release it in 2014. That’s a long wait, but don’t worry you will have enough time to kill with the new Most Wanted game.

Well, who wouldn’t love watching a movie filled with awesome cars, right? Now the only question is, could this make a challenge to the top hit Fast and Furious series?
