At the time when I was watching the I Robot movie, I really expected to have a fully functional robot as my best friend or maybe to see robots taking over the world by the time of this decade. Luckily we are still in control of the world but sadly we are also far behind from making the perfect robot, despite the improvements of today’s technology. But still we are getting closer to making the perfect robot of the future, taking only one step at a time. Researchers at Georgia Tech have been working to contribute to this dream by creating a robot eye that has the ability to interact and make movements just like a human eye.
According to the researchers, this robotic eye system will be made based on a special system to control cameras of robots, which works as their eyes. It will work very similar to give the effects of a human eye muscles movements to these robotic cameras, enabling them to work similar to human eyes.
New program is still in development but it’s not so much far away from becoming a reality. Once this system gets to a fully functioning stage we will be taking one step towards making the perfectly robot.
