From The Web
Digg, the social news sharing website, once known as one of the biggest social media website’s of the world, just got purchased by a New York startup company named Betaworks for an amazingly cheap price.
According to the reports from The Wall Street Journal, Digg was sold for just $500,000. But as the Mashable points out, the current CEO of the site Matt Williams has told the NY Times that “the price floating around is inaccurate.” According to him the total price is more than quoted in WSJ article.
Either way this only marks the gravestone of the fallen social media website, which was once valued at over $160 million. Looks like it’s time to move over to Reddit, the network that took away the throne from Digg.
