Ubuntu-Packed Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook Arrives This Fall
Dell is now preparing to go open-source on their new Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook series by launching these device pre-loaded with Ubuntu OS. As a part of the Project Sputnik, that encourages all computer users to try out the open source OS, Dell is planning to load-up these Ultrabooks with Ubuntu 12.04LTS as the default operating system.

“Since we announced project Sputnik a little over two months ago, we have continued to be amazed by the amount and quality of interest and input we have received,” said Barton George, project Sputnik lead and director Dell’s web vertical marketing.
Dell XPS 13 is a cool new Ultrabook that comes packed with a 13.3-inch display with Gorilla Glass technology and many other features. Since the OS comes free, price of these device will also be cheaper than usual. Company plans to release these Ubuntu-loaded Ultrabooks to the market within this fall.
