Sri Lanka To Reach The Space With Its’ First Satellite
Sri Lanka, also known as the pearl of the Indian ocean reached a greater level of success in economy and development after ending the 30-year war with the LTTE terrorists. As a Sri Lankan, I’m proud to say that our country is developing much faster than it ever was. Now we are even confident enough to shoot for the stars, and to reach the space with our latest project to have our own communication satellite.
Sri Lankan millionaire, R.M.Manivannan of The Supreme Group is supporting this project financially to make the Sri Lanka’s first ever communication satellite. And it will be named as ”SupremeSAT”. With the help of China Greatwall Industry Corporation, this project will be completed in few years. Sri Lanka already plans to launch the satellite by December, 2015 from China. After the launch it will be controlled by the satellite ground station in Kandy/Sri Lanka, which is already planning to build with state of the art technology. Entire cost for the project is said to be over 300 million US dollars.
