Michel Lotito: Man Who Ate an Airplane

Can you imagine a man, a real human eating metal every day for more than 40 years? Do you think I’m joking? No, I’m not.  Meet Michel Lotito, an entertainer from France, who holds the Guinness world record for the “strangest diet”, including nine tons of metal.

He is well-known in his country as Monsieur Mangetout (“Mr. Eat Everything”), a title which he earned by eating 2 Beds, 7 Television Sets, 6 Chandeliers, 18 Bicycles and 15 Shopping Carts. Those were only his appetizers, before he ate an airplane for breakfast. That’s right a real Cessna 150 Airplane. He ate the plane for two years from 1978 to 1980.

Now you may ask, “How the hell did he do that?”. Well, first he chopped the metal into smaller pieces and then dipped them in mineral oil before swallowing them down his throat. Lotito died in 2007 at the age of 57. Not because of he ate metal and weird stuff, it was a natural cause. Check out the video after the break to see a couple of his bizarre stunts.
