Socotra is the best place on earth to visit if you’ve ever wanted to visit an alien planet and see how it looks like. Well, it’s not exactly an alien planet but you can get an alien-like experience because most of the things in this place looks so weird and un-earthly.

Socotra is an archipelago of four islands near the Horn Of Africa. The island measures 132 kilometres and it’s a part of the Republic of Yemen. According to Wikipedia, Socotra is a very isolated island and most of its’ plant life can not be found anywhere else on earth. Specially the giant mushroom-shaped “Dragon’s blood trees,” the cucumber trees, giant succulent trees, and different kinds of birds, spiders, and many other animals can only be seen on this island.

The geological isolation and the burning heat in this place is mainly responsible for creating these amazing plants and creatures, that can’t be seen anywhere else. Or maybe it could be a chunk of an alien planet?
