Buying A Nintendo Wii U Is A Bad Idea, Here’s Why

Nintendo’s latest console, Wii U is now all set to hit the stores in this November  for a steep $300 dollar price. It packs a lot of cool features for that price, which makes it maybe even better than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. But is it really worth buying? Lets find out.

The Price

New Wii U console costs $300 for the 8GB model and $350 for the 32GB version. Yes, it’s very high than both Xbox 360 and PS3. Considring those new features in this console it worth the price. But what about the games? You will only be getting a very limited number of high-priced games for this console, while missing out on all the great new games coming soon for others. Some of the third party games will support this new console in the future. But would you take the risk and wait?

Controller

New GamePad controller comes with a tablet style touchscreen. It looks like fun but not as fun as smashing buttons on an old-school controller, plus this one is a little hard to grasp. Battery works for only 3 – 5 hours. You can use your old controllers too. But what’s the point in using those on a new console? Not to mention that you will be playing alone on this console because all the games announced for the Wii U so far only supports one GamePad.

Xbox 720 and PS 4

Considering all the rumors and reports, both the upcoming Xbox 720 and PS 4 will  come with better graphics and innovative features than the Wii U. But they will definitely cost more than Wii U. You will have to wait till next year. But trust me, it will be worth it.

If you’re a huge fan of Nintendo games or doesn’t like to wait few months till the  Xbox 720 and PS 4, then you should get the Wii U. Or, if you don’t mind waiting few more months enjoying all the upcoming game titles, then I’d suggest you to save up some money to get the big daddy next year.

So, whats it gonna be? Wii U? PS 4? or Xbox 720?

Wii U is so outdated and it isn’t even out yet. It’s truly sad seeing Nintendo keep up with that bad business practice. Nintendo’s main focus these days have become sales and it shows with the poorly designed, cheaply made devices they keep pushing out that should have way more features or at least the same features offered in most devices today which it doesn’t.

Paying $300 for a device that doesn’t even support multi-touch with it’s tablet, still uses a VGA screen on it’s tablet and can’t use more than one tablet on the system for probably a long time or possibly forever made this system not worth a dime to me.

Like you said what is the point of owning a Wii U when it feels more like a Wii XL. I mean basically just like the Wii had problems with it’s remote, people will probably do the same being forced to buy separate controllers or the lovely new and probably expensive (Xbox 360) pro controller for the Wii U… I would know I owned a Wii and that is exactly what I was forced to do because the stupid Wiimote was so lame I had to get a regular controller just play Smash Bro’s, thanks Nintendo..

I have wasted enough money on their failure to ever improve their products like the DS.. to the 3DS XL that it is today and sadly still not much different at all.

Same thing with the Wii U, I have tried so hard to give this system hope but seeing Nintendo cut cost at production once again with the Wii U just like everything else and seeing the lack of full support for the features they advertise is enough for me to steer clear.

Also in a year the Wii U will die off just as quickly as the Wii did, they did the same thing with the Wii then the big dogs came out to play and it died quick like completely died which is rare to ever say a system ever completely dies off but when developers stop even bothering to make games for a system it’s official it is dead.

People can say “Oh the Wii U sold out” so that mean it has to be good? Obviously it means nothing when they are selling in a completely safe time period where there aren’t any other console to compete with in sales really.

They always do that it’s nothing new and it is the only way their systems would sell out because if they sat on the shelves with the PS4 and 720, lets say they waited to release the Wii U until then, everyone knows it would not sell out or even sell at all for that matter well.

Nintendo has become good at one thing when they used to be good at making fun systems that offered a range of great games but that was what like the N64 and the Gameboy.. regardless they have become nothing but greedy slobs, making everything as cheap as possible even when they are the richest gaming division in the world.

If that doesn’t spell greed to anyone being the richest yet making the cheapest devices you can when you clearly have the money to make anything better than Sony or Microsoft combined, I don’t know what else smells of greed like Nintendo then.

There is no reason anymore why their systems are always last and always still outdated. No reason at all and it should not be acceptable but of course people don’t care just like they don’t care what Apple sell them as long as it has an Apple on it.

Couldn’t have said it better. People these days are blinded by the shiny outside of these devices. They don’t even stop to think what they are buying as long as it has “New” or “next generation” tagged on it.
