Google, the maker of the famous Android operating system is freaking out these days over a Chinese-made mobile operating system called Aliyun OS. This Linux-based smartphone operating system comes from a Chinese company named Alibaba. Google is now trying so hard to defeat this company and prevent the Aliyun OS from becoming an Android rival.
According to BBC, Alibaba is now accusing Google for blocking one of their Aliyun-powered devices. Issuing a statement they’ve explained that Google has threatened their partner, Acer to not to unveil the device. The Alibaba company launched this Aliyun OS last year and made success by selling many Aliyun -powered devices. Company once said that it hopes to “become China’s Android”.
Although, Google is worrying over nothing. This OS is just a cheap Android knock-off made in the land of duplicates, China. It has no future. AndroidPolice recently proved that Alibaba’s Aliyun app store is also full of crap. According to their evidence, this Aliyun App Store is distributing pirated Android apps. You wouldn’t believe that they even have a fake Temple Run game named “Temple flee”, which looks exactly like the original game.
Google now claims that the Aliyun OS is an incompatible version of Android. And also points out that “Aliyun OS incorporates the Android runtime and was apparently derived from Android,” Google’s Android chief, Andy Rubin mentioned this in a statement. But the Aliyun maker, Alibaba begs to differ, as they claims to own a unique open source Linux distribution.
This battle has just began and its getting juicier everyday. Surely we will get to see more intensive rivalry among these two companies in the future. Let’s just wait and see how Google over-reacts to this small problem.
