Researchers say that drawing doodles to unlock your smartphone is safer than pin codes and even finger print scans.
This comes from a new study done by Rutgers University, where the experts suggest that freeform gesture passwords, like drawing a shape, a letter, or squiggly lines, are easier to remember and tougher to hack.
“Typing on a smartphone or even a tablet is hard, in particular when you are mobile,” Prof. Janne Lindqvist of Rutgers University told R&D Magazine. “Thus, people tend to do simple passwords or PINs to protect their phones. Our research indicates that gestures allow people to create and recall even complex gesture passwords fast, because you can just do it on the touch screen with one or multiple fingers.”

I think I’ll stick with the good old complicated passwords for now. What do you think?
TIP: Check out Edward Snowden’s advice on coming up with great passwords and consider switching over to LastPass and don’t worry about remembering any of your passwords again.
