A group of students from the University of Stuttgart, in Germany has developed an amazingly powerful electric car that seems to be even faster than a F1 car. According to their latest test drives, this vehicle can go from 0 to 100-kmph (62mph) in just 1.779 seconds. Even the world’s fastest supercar Hennessey Venom GT, which does 0 to 60mph in 2.5 seconds, can’t come close to this new electric car in terms of speed.
The Green Team Formula students, the developers behind the new car, has achieved this new speed thanks to the all-electric all-wheel drive which equips four electric motors for each wheel. The vehicle also only weighs 160 kilograms (353 pounds).
Officially, this is not recognizes as the fastest electric car. Although, it has broken the record for the “fastest accelerating” electric car. What’s more remarkable about this achievement is that this was done, not by some expert team of engineers at a multinational car manufacturer, but by a group of students.
