Even the most loyal Microsoft fans are now starting to quit MS Office. Let’s face it, who would pay to get a software pack when you have such great free alternatives like Google Docs and LibreOffice. Although, there comes a time when you have to deal with Office documents, especially when someone emails you a .docx file. This used to be a problem for fans of Google Docs, but not anymore.
Google Drive has rolled out a new feature, allowing Gmail users to convert Microsoft Office documents to Google Docs, with a single click. Now, when hovering over an attachment you get the option to edit the file with Google Docs.

If you want to edit the document without changing the format to Google Docs, Google has a solution for that too. It can be done with this Chrome Extension, which allows you to edit Office documents with Google Drive while keeping the original MS Office file format.
