Contrary to popular belief, forums are still one of the best ways to share opinions, information and find solutions to your problems around the internet. You don’t have to take my word for it, Facebook believes in it too. That’s why the world’s largest social network has finally decided to bring forums to Facebook via an app called “Rooms.”

Want to have your own forum on Facebook to talk about DOTA or Google Nexus Phones with a specific audience? Then Rooms is the perfect app for you. Rooms is an iOS app made by Facebook that lets you create places for your favorite topics and invite friends and others who are interested in that topic to share discussions.

“A room is a feed of photos, videos, and text – not too different from the one you have on Instagram or Facebook – with a topic determined by whoever created the room.”

However, Rooms are not just about sharing interests. It also allows you to put your imagination to work and take full control of the Room to be be whatever you want.

“That’s why in Rooms you can be “Wonder Woman” – or whatever name makes you feel most comfortable and proud. You can even create different identities for different contexts.”

If you like to hang around in online forums, talking about things you love, Rooms can be a refreshing change of pace. The app is now available on App Store. Facebook make no mention about bringing the app to Android or to the web. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed.
