Fashion designer Anouk Wipprecht calls it personal space defensive dress, but I see it as an ego boost for self-obsessed women. Either way, this robotic Spider Dress, fixed with 3D-printed parts and some Intel Edison modules, seems to have the ability to protect the wearer from people who gets close to them too fast. That is if they don’t get scared by just looking at it.
“Approach the wearer too aggressively and the mechanical limbs move up to an attack position,” says Wipprecht. “Approach the system under calmer circumstance and the dress just might beckon you to come closer with smooth, suggestive gestures.”
